Steve Jobs Wanted to Make an Apple Branded Automobile

It sounds like a bad joke, but there are some vestiges of truth behind the assertion that Apple could produce a company-branded automobile dubbed the "iCar." As it turns out, Steve Jobs actually spoke of such a creation. And he definitely wasn't joking.
Shortly before his fall 2011 passing, the iconic co-founder of the world's most profitable company began dramatically expanding - at least on the drawing board - the potential reach of Apple's product line. In addition to laying the groundwork for a forthcoming connected HDTV offering, Jobs envisioned something much more unorthodox.
"Look at the car industry, it's a tragedy in America. Who's designing the cars?" says J. Crew CEO and Apple board member Mickey Drexler in a new interview. "Steve's dream before he died was to design an iCar and I think it would've been probably 50% of the market. He never did design it."
He also didn't deny that such a vehicle could still manifest. If the Google "smart car" continues to make progress, there's a chance Apple may attempt to bring Jobs' vision for the iCar to life. For the present time, however, Drexler says Apple's next venture is the living room - a suggestion that the iTV will be here much sooner than the iCar.

I hate seeing stuff this like... uhghh!!!! What steve was planning. If he was so smart why did he drink cranberry juice for a year before he took the operation which from public knowledge would have saved his life.. or extended it for time to come.. but No.. holding hands singing songs and hums clearly didnt change it.

"Look at the car industry, it's a tragedy in America. Who's designing the cars?" Man... come here to Argentina and you'll shot in the nuts. Your cars are awesome.

Wow, really? What Jobs did for his health has nothing to do with his creations or innovations. If he believed that cranberry juice would help then he had every right to use it as treatment. It definitely doesn't mean he was stupid. You don't see anyone on here saying your stupid because of your beliefs...you have the right to believe whatever you want. I don't even know why you made that connection! An iCar could potentially be cool, but right now it's just an idea.

Errr... drinking cranberry juice to cure your cancer and rejecting methods that have been shown to work (far higher success rates than cranberry juice consumption) is pretty foolish (yes, I chose not to use the word stupid). Obviously it was his choice to make and nobody else's. Thing is, I can believe the world is flat and that the sun revolves around the earth. And I suppose, as you put it, I have the right to believe that. But here is the kicker. I would still be wrong...

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

I'm sure if he was gonna die then he was gonna die. Cranberry juice or not and he accepted it. Back on topic. The "icar". Think of a better name atleast. Although I wanna see the inside and how simple it would've looked

OK so, 2013, Apple release the iCar. 2015, they release iCar 3.0 with brakes and a seatbelt. Jailbreakers add airbags and the ability to buy petrol from normal garages, not just iPetrolStations.
No thanks Apple

Who wants to live in a world where one Megacorporation gets its hands into every aspect of your life? Computer related gadgets and electronics are one thing but the iCar? Obviously Jobs was a Meglomaniac who could never be content. What's next the iToilet or iToaster.

If there is a proven method that gives you a dramatic chance of living, yet you ignore probly some of the most highest/ best doctors advice in the world.. He paid the ultimate price. Makes you sick GTFO you get real you troll. At least I understand whats going on.
As for Cranberry cures cancer... Right.... Just like chicken soup cures a cold. Not how its works, if anything its a preventative, but wait wasnt cigarettes supposed to be good for you?

You're right in the sense that he has the right to do what he wants to, after all only idiots believe humans have or deserve no free will. But it is a FACT that drinking cranberry juice and using unproven (spiritual) methods of treatment does NOT and NEVER HAS cured cancer! There are MANY scientifically proven methods to treating cancer if a person can accept that they have it and want to be treated before it's too late. He was a genius and I have looked up to him ever since he started proving to people that he would change the world by doing it, look where the world is now; Touch screen phones = virtually non-existent without apple, User friendly graphical user interfaces on personal computers = mostly still command line based personal computers without apple, and a MASSIVE fan-base all around the world for his company. He was an AMAZING man who inspired us all to be BETTER than lowly command line pc users and 1-2 hour battery physical buttoned phone users and become what we are TODAY; The future! The wireless world as we currently know it would very likely not even exist without ONE man; STEVE JOBS! Would Bluetooth, the touch screen phone market, or the touch screen tablet market even exist right now without him? NO! we would be DECADES behind where we are in the technological world without him and you would still be sitting at a freaking DOS prompt right now if it weren't for him and you should have nothing but RESPECT for a dead man of this stature rather than having pointless arguments over his choice of treatment of his cancer.
On topic: An iCar would be AMAZING in the sense that with their already MASSIVE fan-base, they could (in my opinion) VERY EASILY wipe out or at least severely cripple the luxury car market with 2TB of storage, a built in removable Macbook with charging bay slot, built in iPhone charging slot with connection to Siri through USB or Bluetooth, a built in iPad dock/charging bay, and patented iSeats with optional rumble/haptic feedback and 7.1 surround sound and to top it all of and secure the guarantee of a quality and sensible product (NO complaints! This is MY opinion of a quality vehicle maker from years of PERSONAL experience trying ALL standard american made cars which ALL failed constantly after standard use for several years EVEN AFTER going in for regular check ups AND tune ups ON TIME, EVERY TIME! Back on topic-) Toyota, Honda or a similar foreign automobile company to build it.

I would replace all my toilets with iToilets and toasters with iToasters if they existed, iMicrowaves, iOvens, iNduction cook tops, iDesks, iProjectors, iTables, iRefrigerators, iSinks, iDishwasher, iWasher and iDryer, iClocks, iTools with iToolbox, iPlants, iDeck, iBoxes, iGuitars, iWindow blinds, iWindows, iDoors, iChairs, iPianos, iChandeliers, iVacuums, Framed iPaintings, iStairs, iBeds, iBookshelves, iPrinters, iLandLine phones, iYards, and iGarages (with iGarage door), and iHouses are all things I would literally do (almost) ANYTHING (as long as I had a 99.99% chance of surviving from it without injuries) to get. Probably never going to happen but I can dream right? **Has iDream**

There, corrected that for you.

Go and give this article a read: McDougall Newsletter: November 2011 - Why Did Steve Jobs Die?
It's a very well thought out explanation for why Steve Job's died.

You're the troll. He's obviously smarter than you since I can barely read your comments without getting a headache. You don't know much about cancer do you? If you ever get it, I hope people don't call you dumb for not being in chemotherapy. It barely prolongs one's life. Some chemotherapy specialists even abhors chemotherapy. There are tons of side effects. If he accepted his death, he accepted it. He isn't stupid for not wanting chemotherapy for example, rather, he is smart for avoiding the consequences for the events and side effects that would come after the treatment.
Back on topic, I agree with most of you. iCar sounds retarded xD
