Default Apple Digests Stealthy Cafeteria Plan

Apple, as we know, has ambitious plans for the future of its Cupertino, California homestead. As part of the robust new campus construction outlined shortly before the passing of Steve Jobs last year, Apple and its staff are preparing for a major change of quarters.

And the ultra-secretive Apple is taking extra steps to ensure that the new campus is no less a fortress of privacy than it was before. Just how far is Apple willing to go in hopes of keeping top secret chatter under wraps? Well, according to published reports Thursday, the iDevice maker is constructing a 21,468-square-foot cafeteria that will help prevent competitors, journalists, and others spy or eavesdrop on conversations taking place between and among Apple employes.

And for the record, only Apple employees are allowed to eat there.

Apple's plan is to build a two-story, cafeteria-style facility to accommodate employees that currently work out of the various Apple-occupied or owned satellite buildings along Bandley Drive on the west side of N. De Anza Boulevard. The project site is located on the northeast corner of Bandley and Alves drives, near a hotel currently in construction. A majority of the offices in the area are occupied by Apple.
"We like to provide a level of security so that people and employees can feel comfortable talking about their business, their research and whatever project they're engineering without fear of competition soft of overhearing their conversations," asserts Dan Wisenhunt, Apple's director of real estate facilities. "That is a real issue today in Cupertino because we've got other companies here in our same business."

Is this the "above ground" railroad?? haha! In all seriousness it should have been done years ago. Hopefully they install a bar, so the Apple employees testing the Next iPhone can drop it and another Apple employee will pick it up..who'd a thunk it?? haha!
