Apple Says WWDC 2012 Already 'Sold Out'

Well, that was fast.
Tickets to Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference have something in common with new iPhones and iPads: they sell out very, very quickly. Unfortunately, when it comes to the WWDC, however, ticket inventory can't be replenished. And for that reason, if you haven't already reserved your tickets, you may be out of luck if you were hoping to attend this year's conference.
Apple confirmed today that after fewer than two hours of availability, tickets for this year's Worldwide Developers Conference have already sold out. As the site now reads: "Sorry, tickets are sold out. We’ll be posting videos of all our sessions shortly after the conference, so everyone can take advantage of great WWDC content for free."
In case you're wondering, this is, indeed, a record for Apple in terms of how quickly tickets to WWDC have sold out. In 2011, it took a relative eternity for all the tickets to be taken. And by relative eternity, I mean ten hours.
As MMi reported this morning, Apple today confirmed that WWDC 12 will kick off June 11th and end June 15th from inside San Francisco's Moscone West center.

They put 'sold out' in quotes because its clear that Apple only sells 6 tickets to be sure it 'sells out' quickly to build hype.
