Default Apple Confirms June 11 Kickoff to 2012 WWDC

One day after dazzling Wall Street and the investment community with an outstanding second quarter performance in Tuesday's quarterly earnings report, Apple has captured the collective attention and imagination of the tech world again this morning by confirming the date of this year's Worldwide Developer's Conference.

The company's annual and much-hyped WWDC will commence June 11th and end June 15th. The festivities will transpire at San Francisco’s Moscone West. At this year’s five-day conference, Apple says, developers will "learn about the future of iOS and OS X, allowing them to build incredible new apps."

Per established tradition, WWDC will also feature more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers as well as the popular Apple Design Awards.

In a press release issued Wednesday morning, Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, boasted about the amazing program that WWDC will include this year. “We have a great WWDC planned this year and can’t wait to share the latest news about iOS and OS X Mountain Lion with developers," he said. "The iOS platform has created an entirely new industry with fantastic opportunities for developers across the country and around the world.”

The biggest question looming around the annual convention is whether or not it will be the time when Apple unveils the 6th generation iPhone. Although most industry and supply chain chatter hints at a fall release for the next iPhone, there's no telling what Apple may do.

For the love of everything, someone there convince them to allow apps access to the iTunes Shared Folders since the entire file system is out the question.

The conference is about the future of iOS. I commented about a feature I'd like to see in the future of...stay with me on this...iOS.
