Default Apple Users Dominate Online Usage in New Survey

According to the ad network Chitka (who names these companies?) users are more active on iOS devices than any other platform.

Chitka utilized a new research tool that tracks usage in real-time. The numbers come from last 24 hours in which iOS devices (iPads, iPhones, iPods) accounted for 68 percent of all usage on its network. Android accounted for just under 28 percent of all usage, while Windows Phone, Blackberry and others made up less than 5 percent on Chitka’s network.

In fact the new real-time usage tool can be viewed here, with the real-time usage data reported on a six-hour delay. Currently Apple’s iOS devices account for just over 70% of the total usage on Chitka’s network. When the usage is broken down by device the iPad alone sends more traffic to Chitka’s network than all of Android combined.

During a study covering traffic from April 9 through April 15 Chitka found iOS users to have the highest CTR (click-through rate) of .72 percent with Android coming in at .60 percent. IPad users had the highest CTR at .80 percent.

While the ability to monitor data like this might constitute mobile stat watching gone too far, advertisers and publishers alike will likely find the data helpful when planning campaigns and deciding which platforms to develop for.

You are saying "who names these companies," yet you can't even spell the name right. Look at the graph and fix your spelling.
