Product Shortages Hurting European Apple Resellers

Being a business that sells Apple products is usually a good thing, except for when you consistently disappoint customers with insufficient product inventory.

According to published reports Wednesday, Apple's European-based "Premium Resellers" are growing frustrated with Apple as the company all too frequently leaves them hanging with product shortages and depleted inventories of the most sought-after mobile devices in the tech world today.

eBizcuss, Apple's the first authorized reseller in France, claims that its sales have plummeted by nearly 25% following a rash of iPhone and iPad shortages. The store now claims to be teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, something most would never expect to hear from an Apple partner.

Apple, however, appears to have little sympathy for its resellers in France, Germany, and Sweden where a number of resellers are similarly warning of looming bankruptcies. Instead, Apple is chiefly keeping its own shelves stocked and those of its biggest retail partners, which range from Best Buy to Target.

Apple, which has been plagued by product shortages for years, says that each of its own retail stores see approximately 22,000 visitors per week.

When you release something new make sure you have enough products to sell. Apple know people are going to buy the new iDevice in the first week so make more and get them to the shops BEFORE the due date to make sure the shelves are full in every shop then you will sell more NOT make people wait weeks as that wont sell more it'll make people buy the next best thing thats on the shelf which is usually a better device than anything Apple anyway.
I had to wait 3 weeks for my iPad. If the Galaxy Tab was out then I would've gotten that instead. They are always in stock and they sell as good as the iPad.

i see your frustration....but i think your emotions are taking over your thought process if you think apple doesnt know how to run a business lol. You own a ipad and iphone and dislike apple. Don't blame apple. blame the retailers., they already know how apple does business so why are they complaining--AND, if you have the world's hottest selling product then YOU need to make sure you've ordered enough of them.

If they don't like it, they an always sell Android tablets.

If they are going to go bankrupt from not having enough Apple inventory then they must not be very good businessmen.

Let's see they can sell out of Apple products, or keep a huge inventory of Android products on the shelves that are not selling as well.

this is BS i went to Media Markt in Germany 2 days ago and they had over 50 iphone 4s in stock
i knew i should have taken a picture
on the plus side the boxes the come in there are half the size

They do it on purpose. People want what they can't have. It gives a sense of exclusivity. Plus if you don't like Apple, then don't buy it. Also, you could have waited for the Galaxy Tab if you wanted it instead. But you made the right choice because Apple is better.
