I thought the USB flash drives stopped being recognized after a firmware update that lowered the voltage. Does it still work? I would like to use one to store documents on while on business trips. I have a lot of .PDF files that I don't necessarily want to keep on my iPad 2 when I don't need them.

Y not just buy a regular flash drive?
It's kinda stupid to basically carry around an iPod or iPad sized USB drive...but some how I know millions are going to buy it which brings a new meaning to itard...

I remember a few weeks back when apple sued Samsung over a tablet case that a 3rd party vendor made., now Im looking at this device and it looks exactly like my USB adaptor for my Galaxy Tab 10.1--I wonder if Sammy will sue apple the way apple sued Sammy?

For $0, you can partition a flash drive on your iPad (or iPhone) with Cydia app USB Drive (source: apt.dmytro.me)
I added a 4G drive to my iPhone and never need an extra flash.

For half that price you could get a USB 3.0 flash drive 32GB... And at least you'll be sure that the drivers will be compatible with older operating systems.
