Apple Deemed World's 8th Most Valuable Brand

On Monday, Bloomberg reported that Apple's brand value has increased exponentially during the last twelve months.
According to the top 100 global brands ranked in Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2011 report (which excludes privately held brands), Apple was the eighth most valuable brand in the world last year.
It should be noted that Apple claimed the No. 17 spot in 2010.
For 2011, however, Apple's brand (estimated to be worth in excess of $33 billion) was bigger than numerous industry giants, including Disney and Budweiser. Microsoft still remains substantially ahead of Apple at No. 3. with a brand value of $59.1 billion.
Once again, Coca-Cola took top honors in the report with an estimated brand value of $71.86 billion.

Great, I hope it continues to grow and inspire technological innovation at Apple.

wholly cow!!!! 58% increase from last year and apple is still complaining about not making enough money by going after jailbreakers......talking about greed!
Sony and Nintendo on the other hand are hurting really bad. I would be shocked if those companies folded specially Sony. Sony is going to get bought if they keep on loosing this bad. I admire psp's vita specs and all but who really wants to play with that thing when you have the iphone or the galaxy 2s around, specially with games costing less than $1. I truly think that dedicated portable gaming is a dead market. The next iphone with the bigger screen(hopefully) and quad core cpu and quad gpu is going to destroy the dedicated portable gaming market. The only advantage the psp has over the high end smartphones is the controls for gaming.Last edited by swifty7; 01-16-2012 at 11:33 AM.

all apple has to do is to release an iphone with these specs to be untouchable.
4.5" SAMOLED 1080P retina
2gb dd3 ram
16,32,64 gb with micro sd slot
A6 quad core @ 1ghz
quad core gpu
stereo speakers at the bottom and have a dual mic(stereo recording) relocated somewhere else
use a new kind of lithium ion polymer battery with twice the capacity
3g/4g lte
12mp camera with larger optics zeis lens and night shot/ 1080p video rec
dual led flash/ with 1 infrared led for nighshot illumination.

I'm surprised by a good margin of that list.
Anyone else notice the 5.0.1 jailbreak already in there. Good on you Corona!

You are basicall asking for the moon and stars. Most of the stuff we wouldn't need. Most of the stuff would make productions costs sky high and I doubt it would have enough of a bearing on the general populous to boost sales. You listed a bunch of specs. The average iPhone owner doesn't even know what speed their processor is and why.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.
