The Secret Whereabouts of Apple's 50-inch TV
According to Apple sources speaking in confidence with USA Today, the first known 50-inch Apple "iTV" may already exist.
The latest clues out of Cupertino suggest that the hottest prototype in tech is likely residing in a very secure location - the California studio of Apple's well known design guru Jonathan Ive.
The report reiterates the now longstanding rumor that Apple will mass produce a 42-inch or larger LCD TV with built-in Wi-Fi and Siri-control features. But the juiciest element of the article came in the form of an Apple insider's revelation that a "slick" prototype of a 50-inch "iTV" is presently in Ive's possession.
Although certain aspects of the product design and its corresponding functionalities may not yet be known by all, it will come as no surprise to anyone - not even Woz himself - when Apple finally raises the curtain on this product.
"I do expect Apple to make an attempt," Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, tells USA Today, "since I expect the living room to remain a center for family entertainment, and that touches on all areas of consumer products that Apple is already making."

Lets start a pool, 3 months before the "Galaxy TV" is release by Samsung?

Is it really under lock and key, or has it been stolen from a seedy bar in California somewhere....

I won't let go of my Kuro!

I don't think that he will lose that prototype at the bar...

It's going to be way too expensive in my opinion. Realty is that all LCD and led backlighting is made by LG or Phillips, Samsung etc. I'd rather spend the money on the flagship LG who has the long time experience in making TV's without paying the apple premium just to have their brand. I already run my Plex/xmbc with my siriproxy so this will be the one product from Apple that I'll pass up.

Maybe apple wants to compete against the new Samsung Galaxy TV ???

What would really be cool is a touchscreen remote similar to ios that the tv would mimic and cater to. Siri-integrated super remote that responds to your every command via the iTV. HOPE I DIDN'T GIVE AWAY A BILLION DOLLAR IDEA..

What would be even cooler is an iPhone or iPad is the only control it uses with Siri. Ship the tv.. Forget the remote, if they don't have an iPhone or iPad... F them.

It will be over priced for sure

Why are people referring to it as iTV? When ITV is a UK TV channel and the chances of Apple getting the name is slim to none.

Let's hope this doesn't turn up in a bar and gets lost

"...But the juiciest element..." and "...Although certain aspects of the product design...may not yet be known by all..."
Wow, way to blow out of proportion a simple fact that "prototypes" DO get made and that, until revealed, "knowledge" is limited to a narrow circle of engineers and designers. You guys must be DESPERATE for a real story...

I wonder what it's like for Jonathan Ive to walk around, see all the Apple products in the public knowing, "Ya I designed that."
