Apple Reportedly Breaks Company Retail Record on Black Friday

It appears that the less-than-robust economy didn't manage to hobble Apple's retail sales on Black Friday this year. According to reports coming to light this weekend, Apple may have seen its single greatest day of retail sales in company history the day after last week's Thanksgiving holiday, which is hyped as the biggest day for retail in the United States each year.

An Apple retail source speaking in confidence with our friends at 9to5Mac revealed Sunday that Apple's sales on Friday were unprecedented even by Apple's standards.

Apple Retail was forecast and broke Retail sales records all over the country today, this is from [redacted] today, the forecast today is more than 4 times what we normally do. We broke the forecast by 7pm.

Although Apple's discounted iPad prices were a big draw, MacBook Air sales were said to similarly be "off the charts" based on the feedback and insight from Apple sources. As we know, Apple rarely discounts any products. And so when Black Friday brought with it an opportunity to get a new Mac or iPad at price break, the masses turned out in record numbers.

As a result, the evidence continues to mount that Apple won't disappoint (as it did last time) when the company next releases its quarterly earnings report. Between iPhone 4S sales and a holiday shopping bonanza like no other, the folks in Cupertino have broken the bank with gusto to close out 2011.
