Steve Jobs to be Inducted into The One Club Creative Hall of Fame

The One Club for Art and Copy will induct Steve Jobs into the Creative Hall of Fame as a member of its 2012 inductees.

Jobs is one of four inductees who will be honored during an event in New York City on January 17, 2012. The other inductees include advertising creative Paula Green, director/producer Joe Pytka and Robert Lawton will be inducted as the first member of the Educator’s Hall of Fame.

“Jobs will be honored for a lifetime of contributions to design, branding and communications. As a visionary leader, his passion for design not only created products that changed the way we interact with technology and media, but changed the way we create content in media.”

This isn’t the first time The One Club has recognized Apple’s creative efforts.

“Since 1984 the One Show has awarded over 100 pieces of advertising and design created and produced for Apple by Apple’s design team and by the long and storied partnership with Chiat/Day, which continues today with TBWA\Media Arts Lab.”

The event will include cocktails, dinner and a presentation ceremony held at Gotham Hall. Tickets for the event cost $500 a piece and can be purchased here.

If I were the late great Steve jobs, I'd be embarrassed to be a part of such a meaningless club/award. An "advertising creative"? Never have I heard of such mediocrity.
