Apple Accuses Amazon of 'False Advertising'

On the heels of hot and heavy rumors suggesting that Amazon is poised to release a smartphone to compete with the iPhone next year, Apple is blasting the juggernaut online retailer for "false advertising." And, as you might imagine, this has something to do with this week's successful launch of the Kindle Fire tablet.

Having already filed suit against Amazon over its use of the term "App Store," Apple took matters further Wednesday by amending its original complaint to acknowledge how Amazon has been engaged in false advertising practices since the Android tablet was first unveiled six weeks ago. Since that time, Amazon has been focusing on the name "Amazon Appstore" as opposed to the "Amazon Appstore for Android."

"Amazon's use is also likely to lessen the goodwill associated with Apple's App Store service and Apple products designed to utilize Apple's App Store service by associating Apple's App Store service with the inferior qualities of Amazon's service," Apple added to its filing, tossing in a few screen shots for a visual representation of Amazon's alleged transgressions.

Beyond the filing's amendment, Apple is not offering official comment on the accusations levied against Amazon. This simply illustrates another telling example of how Apple will not relent until any reference to an "App Store" leads back to the Cupertino, California-based tech giant.

I meant Microsoft. Even though I wrote widows if someone sensible reads it again and try to understand it without jumping to write LOL and increase post counts, you can understand clearly what it meant. It meant microsofts own phone. I am very well aware of when windows came and what is window platform. I am a programmer. It's not a point of argument. It's just how fast we come to conclusions just because something was not in favor of apple.

Microsoft has a mobile OS, not its own phones. Apple is so sad, implying that people only buy the fire because of the use of the word Appstore. They will find any way they can to try and ban competition. The day Apple gets their way will be a sad one for consumers. I like having a choice on what type of devices I buy, not to mention competition drives prices down.

With more than 80 billion in the bank Apple already rules the world... and the world doesn't need another uninspired "me-too" device. There are too many crapdroid phones out there trying to mimic Apple's success. This is where innovation ends in favor of the Chinese and the Koreans.. Come up with something new and inspiring then people might listen...

I really hate Apple... Thus the reason I did not get the iPhone 4S even when I qualify for one.Looking forward to Amazon Phone and also looking at some Android phones, anything other than iPhones now

And other than modmyi users, who actually cares? They won't lose any customers. To all average teens and adults who are completely oblivious to what's going on the iPhone is a phone that works well for them (as so with all of Apple's products) and they don't give a damn about anything legal that's happening elsewhere.
