    Default MacBook Pro Refresh Revealed

9to5Mac claims to have the nitty gritty details regarding the rumored MacBook Pro refresh to occur as early as next week.

The refresh appears to be an incremental upgrade complete with faster processors and improved storage capacities. While the hard drive capacities remain the same across the board, two new build to order options are available in the form of 750GB 7200RPM HDDs. Currently only a 500GB 7200RPM option is available.

    New 13 inch MacBook Pros:

2.4 GHz dual core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive, SD card slot
2.8 GHz dual core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 750 GB hard drive, SD card slot

    New 15 inch MacBook Pro:

2.2 GHz quad core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive, SD card slot
2.4 GHz quad core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 750 GB hard drive, SD card slot

    New 17 inch MacBook Pro:

2.4 GHz quad core processor, 4GB, 750 GB hard drive, SD card slot, Express Card slot

    Built-to-order configurations:

15 inch: 2.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive (faster 7200 RPM)
17 inch: 2.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive (faster 7200 RPM)

    9to5Mac
The slight bump in speed and available storage capacities will be a welcome addition to those shopping over the holiday season. For those anticipating a redesign, or some other substantial upgrades, the waiting game continues.

exactly. it's only a minor speed bump.

Imagine how frustrating it would be if the actually redesigned them less than a year after the update.. phew, dodged a bullet there, as I just bough my 15" MBP 2 months ago.

I only bought a 13" i7 MBP about a week ago. That sucks big time. Anyone know if its possible for me to return it and get the refresh, or is it not out yet?

Man...everytime they do this it just makes my late 2006 model look even more pathetic! At least I upgraded my HD to a 640 GB from the factory 120 GB drive. Any idea when they'll be able to fit a 1 TB HD in a notebook?

Looks like Apple quietly updated them already.

This is typical EVERY year. They come out with major refresh around April and a minor refresh 6 months later. This should never be a suprise for any Mac owner.

    I have seen 1TB 2.5" hdd's a lot cheaper than that.
