Official Steve Jobs Biography Release Changed to October 24th
Following the unfortunate news of Steve Jobs' passing on Wednesday, Simon & Schuster has announced today that it will bump up the release date of their official - and authorized - Steve Jobs biography to later this month. Initially, the book was scheduled to arrive in bookstores March 6th of 2012. Earlier this summer it was pushed to November 21st. Today, the new release date is October 24th.
Despite the musical chairs routine when it comes to the book's launch, the work has been pegged at no. 1 in pre-sales on Amazon's bestseller list (biographies category) for months.
Simon & Schuster said the highly anticipated tell-all biography, written by biographer Walter Isaacson, will include comprehensive material about Steve Jobs' life, including details from his late August resignation. It is not clear at this time, however, if the manuscript will be revised yet again in the coming days following news of Steve Jobs' passing. My strong suspicion, however, says that it will.
Not withstanding the mega-hype of the book, no major bombshell revelations are expected. "Iíve done a lot of things Iím not proud of, such as getting my girlfriend pregnant when I was 23 and the way I handled that," Jobs said after the book project was announced. "But I donít have any skeletons in my closet that canít be allowed out."

I never met Steve Jobs, but felt like I knew him personally. Thanks Steve for all that you have done in your life.

In short, they know they will make more money on it immediately following his death than if they waited until their initial release date.

I am not a reader but am looking forward to this book. I always wished at some point in my life to see Steve Jobs speak or at a seminar but unfortunately that could no longer happen.

Ö*I don't even read a lot, but because it's Steve Jobs, I will. Like many others, I wish I could have met him or at least have heard from him through whatever public event. It's impossible now, but I guess the only way to connect is to read about him.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs - He's with us in our hearts and minds.
