Apple Rolls Out Mac OS X 10.6.8

On Tuesday, MMi's Matt Savoca posed a burning question within the hallowed forums of MMi: "Hey, Apple…. Where's 10.6.8?"
Today, Apple answered Matt along with the rest of the Mac world by releasing Mac OS X 10.6.8, the eighth maintenance update for Snow Leopard. It's available now through a Software Update from Apple. All told, it's a release we expected sooner rather than later, especially since the roll out of Final Cut Pro X earlier this week directly referenced Mac OS X 10.6.8
According to Apple's own encouragement, 10.6.8 update "is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac."
The fixes referenced by Apple are specifically those that:
- Enhance the Mac App Store to get your Mac ready to upgrade to Mac OS X Lion
- Resolve an issue that may cause Preview to unexpectedly quit
- Improve support for IPv6
- Improve VPN reliability
- Identify and remove known variants of Mac Defender

I don't know if it is only me, but it seems after updating, start up became slower than before.

I want legacy kernel to come out for this, since I'm running an AMD hackintosh!
