Apple Seeds Mac OS X 10.6.8 Build to Developers
Apple has seeded yet another beta (Build 10K537) of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to it's dedicated community of developers. The new build packs it's usual weight of around 1 GB and is the first to hit developers since WWDC ended last week. Three weeks has passed since the last build was seeded.
As with the last batch of builds, today's build is said to have no known issues.
Developers are being encouraged to focus their energies on AirPort, Networking, Graphics Drivers, the Mac App Store, QuickTime, and VPN. As always, Apple would appreciate any dev feedback on file bugs or other issues worth reporting.
It's interesting to note that Apple is once again going after the MAC Defender malware epidemic, a legitimate threat that the company has taken very, very seriously. It's just the latest attempt by Apple to get all its proverbial ducks in a row ahead of OS X Lion's public launch next month. By all accounts, Mac OS X 10.6.8 may represent the last of the maintenance updates to Snow Leopard before we shift into gear and venture into the Lion's den so to speak.
Build 10K537 is now available for download from Apple (either as a 454MB delta update or the 1GB combo update).
