Amazon Now Accepting iDevice Trade-Ins

Amazon added a boatload of new electronics to their fledgling Trade-In program, including iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches. The biggest surprise though, the trade-in value for your used devices doesn't suck.
However, what does suck, is you don't get cash for your products. Rather, Amazon credits your Amazon account with an Amazon Gift Card. Still, for those looking to purchase goods on Amazon the the proposed values are a pretty good deal.
Your old-as-Amy-Winehouse-looks original iPhone has a trade-in value of $69, and your 3GS is worth $162. Not exactly great, but not as big of a rip-off as Best Buy's soulless foray into the trade-in market. iPod classics can fetch you up to $114 for the higher capacity models, and a 64GB first generation iPad is worth $340.75.
The most valuable of course is the fully featured iPad 2 64GB model. Oddly enough the AT&T model will bring home a couple dollars more than the Verizon equivalent ($540 vs $538.75). And even more odd is the discrepency between white and black iPad 2's. White iPads are apparently worth $12 more than their black equivalent with a trade-in value of $552 for the 64GB 3G capable model.
This service offers a good value for those too lazy to sell the devices on their own, or are terrified of possibly being mugged during a Craigslist meetup.

So basically, I could purchase a new iphone 3GS 8GB for $50 with a new 2yr contract. Sell that phone to Amazon for $162, then get a LG G2X for $79 with a new 2yr contract. Id have $83 in my pocket and a phone thats equal to or better than my iphone 4 !!
brb, going to the AT&T retail store to add an iphone 3GS 8GB to my account !!| Desktop: Windows 7 | Phone: Samsung Galaxy S4 | Tablet: Galaxy Tab 10.1 |
Newest Device: Samsung Galaxy S IV |

Most of these can be sold on eBay or locally for at least 1.5x to 2x as much as those trade-in prices...but I guess there are plenty of people who don't know that.

Even the cheapos on Craigslist in my area pay better than Amazon
But hey if I ever have a hard time selling my iDevice (yeah right...haha they always sell within 1-3 days for me) then I'll give Amazon a go.

Hmm.. I think Craigslist is best way to go. No seller fee's but you have to be careful when you trade.
