What? I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. That's like comparing a dinosaur to a spider.Asking for help is different from being stupid. Fanboys can rot in @#$%!

Essany, you're coverage is getting ridiculous... and as for the cliches...
That list, whoever the hell compiled it, is total rubbish and holds no merit.
Another list created to suck ***!
Steve Jobs isn't an engineer.. he's a pioneer.
Einstein was also NOT an engineer!
Steve Jobs Is an innovator, and he created a fantastic company who's team of 100's pump out amazing products.
Einstein, Edison and Newton etc were one man bands who discovered , changed, invented and shaped the mould that people like Jobs, Dyson and Gates would use to create their companies.
Foe god sakes, Edison created the lightbulb in 1880!
He also invented the phonograph and the first motion picture camera!
Newton described universal gravitation and the three laws of motion, which dominated the scientific view of the physical universe for the next three centuries!
and he invented the first reflecting telescope!!
Don't lose sight of reality people!!

So what your saying is all you have to be is a smart business person with a smart company to pass some way more important people on the list?
05-09-2011, 09:23 PM #48
yea Jobs may very well be a genius but i do not think he should be ranked above newton and Einstein for sureYou don't like the iPad because you don't have one!

Then he should write for them instead of covering previously covered stories, and bringing bias, and rather useless, information to a site in which the users, "love modifying our iphones." I fail to see the part of this article in which modifying my idevice is presented. Oh wait! It was written by Michael Essany, that means there isn't one!

You forgot Rebecca Black! And just for the record, whoever decided to make the show "Jersey Shore" needs to be killed before he came up with that idea. (initiate time warp!)

Dyson, Brunel, and Jobs were voted top 3 by BRITISH college kids. No ****. Were they the top runners for prom king as well? 1 and 2 are both British so obviously that's a given and Steve Jobs is more popular than HPV among college students so clearly he's going to be unreasonably high. These guys should not be higher than Edison or Einstein. That's Ludacris.

Articles like this contribute to the continuing dumbing down of today's youth. Now some poor kid is going to read this and honestly believe that Jobs is more important historically than Einstein.
Absolutely pathetic. Modmyi needs to seriously considering hiring someone to serve as an editor to prevent crap like this from being posted.
*EDIT: Perhaps that was a little harsh - but the title of the post definitely needs to be restructured so that the readers know that it was college age kids who voted on this list...not a true scientific community.

Apple just need a vac then to get to the top , an ivac would probably be the name with built in ipod functions

The caveman that invented the wheel should be ahead of Jobs.

I smell a 4chan plant...
However, I'm going to go ahead and exercise my 1st Amendment Right and say that Essany is a bit of a tool for posting this. If Jobs had invented the computer it'd be a different story. I was pretty offended, to be quite honest.

News flash: in light of the recent developments pertaining to the greatest minds that changed the world, Steve Jobs couldn't sit idle knowing Dyson was considered to be such an innovator above Apple. Mr. Jobs has come forward, and just unveiled the most powerful and smartest vacuum ever. Introducing, the i-Suck.

I believe any of the physicist mentioned can easily become an engineer, I would not say the same for Jobs.
Personally I think most of the students that took this survey have ADD, their attention span stop at "All Time Heros" and ignored "in engineering". I hope I am not giving them too much credit, or else that is one island that may be ready to buy the "Brooklyn Bridge".
