Steve Jobs Sends Letter of Support to all Apple Employees in Japan
Steve Jobs has reportedly sent out an e-mail of support to all Apple employees in Japan following the 9.0 earthquake that hit there last Friday. In his e-mail, Steve offered to help all who "have been touched by this tragedy." The founder of Digg, Kevin Rose, recently posted an e-mail he received detailing how Apple has gone to great lengths offering aid and assistance to all employees and their families in there time of need.
Steve Jobs writes:
Last Sunday, Apple also began taking donations via iTunes for the American Red Cross to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami. Because Apple lets users make donations through iTunes with a simple mouse click, this lets people make a quick donation that will help victims in Japan. Donations can also be made through American Red Cross website as well.To Our Team in Japan,
We have all been following the unfolding disaster in Japan. Our hearts go out to you and your families, as well as all of your countrymen who have been touched by this tragedy.
If you need time or resources to visit or care for your families, please see HR and we will help you. If you are aware of any supplies that are needed, please also tell HR and we will do what we can to arrange delivery.
Again, our hearts go out to you during this unimaginable crisis.
Please stay safe.
Steve and the entire Executive Team

Really puts things into perspective when you see this on a board where people commonly complain about the release dates for jailbreaks of their iOS devices.

Kudos to Apple for this. It is definitely refreshing to see a company support their employees all the way down to the lowest level. Good job Steve.

There, I trolled so you don't have to"Billions in the bank and all he sends is a letter!"
"A letter isn't going to help people"
It's a nice show of support from Apple HQ.
I like that it explicitly has a few lines about time off or supplies.

Good to know Apple will be using the customers' donations to iTunes to help out THEIR company employees in Japan.
Funny how this letter comes out just a few days later from when Apple began taking donations and not immediately after the crisis.
Smooth Apple.....very smooth.

Yeah, I know. I was just pointing out that Apple is only providing a service for donations to go to the red cross, not for themselves. Therefore, Apple is not using our donations to help their employees.
