Well, this will be my first MPB (2011 15" MBP High End). I'm just waiting for Apple to accept my order. Hope it's a worthy investment .

Too bad they're still about 45-55% too damn expensive for even a fairly wealthy, high end consumer with the bevy of comparably specced PC options out there for a fraction of the price... I say that with regret because I really would like to try a Mac notebook but the pricing is just so damn absurd.

1000 is too much for the highest quality, best-liked, fastest and easiest ui, computer around, that is meant to last ten years?

Can't go wrong. I got the top of the line 27" iMac, and I will never go back to a PC.

Totally true. Like a little girl writing a school report, lol. No offense to writers, but only very few articles are good. Which this one is, btw.

The new MBP's are sweet, but I don't think I would use the quad-core just yet.

Apple has no intention for you to use one of their devices for 10 years... Lion ended their support for their PowerPC computers which they made up until 2006...

So I guess no one can answer MY question....perhaps the original writer can tell me why the 15" is a higher end model?

Your still going to get the same battery life as with older models. Apple made their testing even harder putting more pressure, so they got lower time. It's no different than last year. If apple did the same test last year than they would have gotten the same time.
Username is 3GS, but theres stuff past that:

I'm guessing reading isn't your strong point, it clearly says the high end 15" model, there are 2 models in the 15" range.

Even though the 13'' is slower than the 17'' (duh) it still beats my computer by 300%... definitley gonna pick on up in the following months... maybe a 15'' if I save up enough...

Then I'm guessing it isn't yours either, because 'clearly' the way it was originally worded could've been taken in more ways than one. Unless of course your opting to be a smart-*** about the question overrides your willingness to admit that the wording in referencing the "higher end 15" model" doesn't automatically suggest there are TWO 15" models, and even though there are two on the site, they can be configured any way you like so at first glance one just appeared to have a better processor....which again, could be changed anyway.

Point is unless you've actually BEEN on apple.com, that wording could be taken to mean they're calling the 15" model a "higher end" one, not necessarily referring to the better of two models. So much for using feedback here for helping me choose a model.
