I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

sony isn't going to spend the money to replace all ps3 with a hacker proof one. they'll be bankrupt by the end of it. after taking all hackers (innovators) to court (which isn't free). and then spending money to replace hackable ps3's? is this generation of gaming not about to see a new console probly in the next 5-7 years? sony needs to think about playstation 4 and forget about any flaws that went unnoticed on the ps3 for years.

If someone can create super-hard-to-hack software, someone can create a crack for it. The talent is on both sides. Any geek working for apple or Sony or whoever, started as a hacker. They just got "respectable" gigs with big paychecks. Nothing is un-hackable!

But you're forgetting that there is one thing the consumer does not have physical access to: the cloud. And as more and more products require an always-on Internet connection to function, we'll start to see a whole lot more realtime authentication systems in use.
And if you think efforts to fight hacking are completely futile, try buying something from Lik Sang, installing XBMC on a recently-purchased Xbox360, getting pirated DirecTV or unlocking an iPhone 4 (for the time being, anyway). For all of these things, hope you have a DeLorean with a flux capacitor, otherwise you're too late.

For those who think this has nothing to do with Apple or iDevices, think for a minute. If Sony wins this case, how do you think it will affect other companies like Apple? If Sony wins, that means Apple can sue and use this case to win and prevent us from jailbreaking. And guess what? That precious unlock you're waiting for won't exist.
