Apple Opening Retail Store 300 Miles South of the Arctic Circle
Some of the hottest gadgets in mobile technology are headed for one of the coldest places on earth. According to information gathered by ifoAppleStore, Apple is planning to open a retail store at the Fifth Avenue Mall in Anchorage, Alaska. This store will become the northern-most Apple store in existence, only 320 miles south of the Arctic Circle.
According to the original tip, the fit-out is underway inside the former Eddie Bauer space on the second level of the downtown mall.
Construction schedules at the Anchorage site suggest the store will open in September. The property, however, will not be a grand structure by comparison to other Apple stores in the hopper around the world. As MMi reported earlier this week, Apple's biggest retail ventures are presently planned for China, where the new Shanghai store may soon become Apple's busiest and most lucrative.

I go to Anchorage every summer because my mother still lives there. The only "Apple Store" they have is a private one owned and operated by the same people selling Apple products since the early 2000s. They're good people. I hope this Apple Store doesn't f*** them over.

There are two stores in Anchorage that sell Apple products and I suspect not welcome the competition. Best Buy has two stores here and have good Apple sales people on site.
Now In 'N Out Burgers......yum! But sadly none up here....yet

Soon to come.........Apple-branded warm clothing.
iThermals.....available in white, gray, and whiter.
And another thing.......what's the point in putting "300 miles South of the Arctic Circle."
What's wrong with just putting "Anchorage, Alaska". I'm sure the people who live there know how close or far it is from the Arctic Circle.
"Hey guess what bro!"
"Apple has three retail stores 74 miles south of Austin, TX and 560 miles East of El Paso, TX."
"Well where the f**k is that?"
"San Antonio, TX."
"Oh....well why didn't you just say that."

Awesome news. It's not like those of us in Alaska can just drive to the next state over to hit an Apple store. If we want to go to Seattle we have several days of driving and have to show a passport just to get there...unless you take a ferry which is still several days, several hundred dollars, and only operates during certain times of the year...so...Apple store in Anchorage...awesome!!!@hvywheel
