Unless the base model has a quad core i5 I am not interested. Each yearly refresh has only added extremely minimal things to the plate. My base model pro from two years ago is about as good as the base models currently on the market. To those saying $100 off the "old" model isn't worth it (assuming these newer ones don't come with a complete CPU upgrade), you truly do only want the latest and greatest. A couple dozen mHz speed increase isn't worth a $100 premium...

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Every heard of a graphics processor? Yeah, they get upgraded too. I guarantee that your base-model's performance from 2 years ago isn't near my current base model. Plus the i5's are hyper-threaded, meaning that they are pretty much quad-core.

Wow I just bought my 15'' i5 On Feb.5. Seriously thinking about returning it to best buy where I bought it and get one of the newer models. Im a Best Buy Silver rewards member and have up to 45 days to return anything I purchased.

I want a 15" Display, i5 Quad Core, 512GB Graphics (minimum, maybe dual core), I have 8GB Ram in my current MBP so hopefully I can transfer half of that to a new one. I'd also love the option to replace the SuperDrive with a SSD, have the OS and Apps on SSD and media and docs on HDD. Upgrade the iSight to HD quality.

I have a "new" 15 inch i5 and am loving it. You can always wait for the next new thing or just get what you want when you want it. I honestly wouldn't be jumping too quick for the Sandy processors with the recall and all. Let other pcs test out the bugs first.

I read this article and went out and bought the 15inc 2.8ghz w/ anti gloss hig-res anyways the point im making is, they say new ones will come out, they said ipad 2 before xmass for sure, then it was jan, now feb, there was a Sandy Bridge intel chip flaw, that needed to be corrected, which means all those computers they made or were making needs to be corrected before shipping. I'd be very suprised if the new ones came out, if so i still got until march 4th.

You do realize that it is coming up on a year since the last refresh? You do realize that stores are running low, if not out of them? You do realized that Apple's "ships in" time is increasing? Look at the facts, then try to support your argument.
