I just got mine working and cydia installed and working.
I did it on my iP4 with a fresh restore to 4.2.1 because i was currently tethered via redsnow. cydia did take forever to download and install though from the loader app.

I was happy to see this post when I opened modmyi, but after reading about all these issues I'll stick with the tethered 4.2.1 on my iPad and untethered 4.1 on the iPhone. Didn't really see a need to upgrade to 4.2 on the iPhone as I don't have the "specific printer" required to use the AirPrint feature, nor do I use airplay. Take caution and wait for a little while longer, it's only been how long now since the last untethered release. But I'm sure these guys will work out the bugs fairly quickly.

Jailbreaking failed...I had to restore my device.

Actually, I didn't need to restore. iTunes remove my iPod from recovery mode.

Anyone know where I can download 4.2.1 with old baseband? I don't want to download the stock iTunes version cause it will update my baseband.

    Thanks

If we hadn't been waiting this long already I might be more tempted to beta test this. Think I'll wait. Let me know when the dust settles.

So i jailbroke 4.2.1 on a mac for my iphone 4 but after the program completes I check my phone and cannot see cydia or tell if its jailbroken or not.

Do I have to download cydia on my own?
No new Icons poped up on my phone.

For those stuck at Initializing... reboot... go back into DFU mode but NEVER take your finger off the home button. Wait until it starts running code on the screen.

It isn't working because there are thousands trying to download. I happened to be on twitter as it was posted so I had no problems downloading.

I did have issues with installing 4.2.1 because I had wifi-sync installed, and it must be removed from the computer. Once that was removed 4.2.1 installed fine and the jailbreak was smooth as silk.

Getting Loader to show Cydia required me to restart the phone and then close and reopen loader a few times to get cydia to show (server must have been overloaded).
