isn't redsn0w only using the develop firmware file?

I'd rather use official firmware, and this is easier to use.

Chpwn Mentioned on twitter to make sure to restore to a fresh Firmware if you were currently using a tethered jailbreak.

4.2.1 i4 out of box. Did not have 4.2b3 shsh.

To the people having issues. Are you doing the jailbreak on a clean install or trying to do it over an exisiting jailbreak. It is always best to do it on a clean install. Not a good idea to mix jailbreaks.

The SHatter exploit was in the A4 chipset so it wouldn't work on the 3G and 3Gs, this does. That fact alone means it isn't SHatter. Plus if I remember correctly, SHatter was a bootrom exploit which could only be fixed with new hardware, a new firmware wouldn't stop it.

Also setup as new not restore from backup.

Agreed. I never restore a backup with a jailbroken device. Only causes issues.
