Apple Seeds Mac OS X 10.6.7 Build 10J846 to Developers

image: MacStories
Earlier today, Apple seeded a brand new build of Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers. The update is a small increase to last week's initial build that was seeded to developers. Last week's build was numbered 10J842.
As with the previous release, developers are being asked to focus their testing on several specific areas. Developers are asked to look at the AirPort, Bonjour, SMB (Windows File Sharing), and Graphics Drivers, and are now being asked to direct testing to the Mac App Store.
There are no reports of any significant upgrades in this beta build of OS X 10.6.7. With the build number so similar to last weeks build, it can be assumed that the release is most likely for minor bug fixes. The change from last week is that Apple has asked developers to look at the Mac App Store, where they had previously not asked developers to focus their testing. No changes to the App Store have been reported by developers as of yet, but if anyone finds anything, we'll be sure to write let you all know.
The Snow Leopard Update is only available to developers right now. It is unknown when Apple plans to release this update to the masses.

I'm new to this forum and how Apple works. How often does Apple release updates for their devices (iMac, MacBook, iPhone, iPod, iPad)?
I just upgraded my iMac to the latest software... now there's another one coming out.

iphone ipod and ipad have major updates every about three to six months. There sometimes are small updates within two months. I dont have a Mac and I dont know anything about it. (BTW, the stuff on this post is Beta, the actual firmware isnt released until about two and a half months).
