MacBook Pro and iMac Refresh First Half of 2011
Reports coming out of Asia today indicate that Apple will upgrade the MacBook Pro and iMac lines during the first half of 2011. There are said to be four new MacBook Pro models that feature new screen sizes and should be priced more competitively than current models. iMacs are also expected to see updated designs and new screen sizes as well.
Apple plans to release the latest Mac OS X upgrade dubbed Lion, next summer. It would make sense for Apple to have new Mac models ready to ship that showcase their latest and greatest operation system. Apple is expected to ship 10 million MacBooks by the end of 2010. MacBook shipments are expected to grow by as much as 30-40% by the end of 2011.
Apple is also expected to upgrade its processors to Intel’s Sandy Bridge processor in the coming year. Intel will officially release these new chips at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 5th.
With the release of the updated MacBook Air models and reports of new Macs coming in the next few months, Apple is sure to have the strongest lineup of notebook computers in the industry. Hopefully, prices will come down so more people will be able to make the switch to Apple in the coming new year.

Just got my current iMac in Feb of this year so I am good for a little while. But always love to see improvements that might lure me into upgrading.

I just bought a new MBP last month
kind of wish I had waited now...oh well, still love it!
Can't wait for Lion to come out, Snow Leopard was good, but it was only a small OS update. Lion will be a full fledged OS with some awesome new features!
I would. The older one's will prob drop in price which would be good, or you could get the newest model if you want to lay down the $!Last edited by steve-z17; 12-16-2010 at 01:52 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I definitely wanna see how good sales are this time. With the popularity of iPhone and iPad I can see Apple having great sales with this refresh.

I just bought a 15" MBP 2 weeks ago. It will be a while until the newer ones come out anyways so no biggie. I love it and it is awesome just like it is. I put a SSD in it and use the 500GB as external now. Just put in more RAM so it is humming along. Couldnt be happier.

Can't wait to replace my MBP. I hope they make some nice changes instead of the minor speed improvements like in the past year.

My iMac is a summer'07 top model, with manually replaced HDD to WD veloceraptor. Three and half years of service, and i still can run whatever i want.
Maybe i'll upgrade in the Lion's summer ;-)
Wish there will be SATA III support, so i can put Veloceraptor 2 in it. Sigh...PRAETORIANNI NONNUMQUAM IN PROELIO NUMQUAM IN BELLO SUPERANTUR

You don't like the iPad because you don't have one!
