not in a million years.
Really, it's like Apple buying GM. They're way too incompatible

But seriously, they don“t have to buy sony. Only 51% of sony“s stock :P
I dont think this is gonna happen = psp vs iPhone/iPod Touch and Sony“s blue ray.. there is no blue ray on mac cause jobs thinks they people need it..

If Apple didn't want to mess with Microsoft Products at all, why do they allow you to dual-boot with just about any windows OS?

All the rumor buyouts that they say Apple is going to do for some reason I cannot find a connection in any direction or path that Apple is on.
I mean the rumors included EA, FaceBook, Sony, Disney, etc. The only one that I can see possible as a move forward on the gaming front would be EA. Sony is to massive and a whole new ballfield for Apple with all of it's divisions. Disney most likely won't happen; plus SJ already has a massive amount of stock in them.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I see this as highly possible but the repercussions that would occur in so many different aspects of technology would be huge;
Its not just the games industry, there is professional sound equipment, movie making equipment e.g high definition cameras used to make the movies, Sony Picture (Sony's own Movie company) as well as end user products like T.Vs laptops etc...
Apple's world domination continues!!!

yeah 'possible' being the operative word (meaning not a fact), I can see Apple wanting this

You don't like the iPad because you don't have one!

As far as I can tell, you don't (typically) get banned just for calling another user a 'moron',
but if that user happens to be a Moderator (or Super Moderator), you'll get an infraction for sure.
OTOH they can call names all they like :3

Now I want to see an Apple Game System that is just a PS3 but with the AppleTV/Front Row UI. Think about it..... a complete gaming system with everything you also get from an AppleTV. Of course with all of Apple's crazy twists. If Apple actually acquires Sony, it would have almost no choice but to start adding blueray support on Mac computers/laptops.

Sony has been on a steady downward decline in market value and profitability for the last decade. Apple has no reason whatsoever to purchase Sony. I can't think of a stupider acquisition. Apple has no interest in the Playstation since they wish only to push their own platforms for gaming. Apple has no interest in Blueray and is actively removing optical media capability from their mobile devices. Apple already makes top-notch hardware so I can't see where Sony's "expertise" would come in handy. The only value I can see Apple finding in Sony is MGM and Sony's other movie rights and holdings, but the media holdings alone wouldn't make the purchase worthwhile. This is just another flashy headline from Messany to draw in the eyes to turn out more page hits.They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.
