I never understood their GUI. It is visually unpleasing. Are there any programs like Austin Shell or Windows Blinds that let you change the entire look of the interface on a Mac?

The stoplight buttons work a lot better when you have iTunes as the mini player, of which I use all the time.

the stoplight buttons didn't bother me, it's the lack of color, and the fact that if you don't have a full album, u get no album artwork!!!WTF!!! i did all that work to get the album art for some individual songs i liked off of certain albums, and they go and take it away....i even tried pasteing the artwork again for those songs and it still won't show up...f'in apple, gets a good thing goin and then finds a way to screw it up by tryin something new *ahem*iphone4*ahem* lol

Hmm, I actually love the new looks. Those colors always bothered me. And the vertical buttons make sense, because this way the top bar doesn't need to be extra high.
The only thing I don't understand is why they shrinked the album covers in column view and took them away completely in list view. What's that all about? Or did I miss something here?

oh, and, "defaults write com.apple.iTunes full-window -0" can undo this action.

why all the fuss about this? does anyone even use those buttons on iTunes? i can understand the grayscale icons being annoying, because i don't like them either, but the smaller traffic light that i basically never click on is a welcome change.

Firewall error
The only thing that I can't get fixed is that when I add the colors using any of the mentioned ways, I get a firewall error when starting itunes...
"Do you want the application "itunes.app" to accept incoming network connections?"
The reason is that something is missing in the itunes app. The 'fix' is to uninstall and re-install if you get anything when entering this
codesign -v /Applications/iTunes.app
in terminal. After color modification, and running the above line in terminal, you'll get this response...
/Applications/iTunes.app: a sealed resource is missing or invalid
So I'm sticking with 9.2.1

Apple is always giving hints like these to show their next break through. I was thinking about it and well apple is always trying to be best, and not the same as windows. Notice windows closing, minimizing buttons are similar just re-arranged. Easy to put one window over the other one just slightly lower. Well apple, being apple of course, had to be different. Let's say they do start arranging the buttons like this. U would do the exact same u would do in windows the only difference is that u can keep your window full size. All u have to do is place the window slightly to the right. Think about it! It makes sense!!
