Why No Facebook Support in Ping?

Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes already has a iTunes-to-Twitter script, and macosxautomation.com already has a 'Post iTunes URL to Social Networks' script. So, what's the big whoop with Ping if I don't want to manager yet another social network?

This is totally F'd in the A without Facebook. I did a few searches and it won't allow you to follow artists unless they have themselves already setup a page. I suppose that works for a few artists, but not most and certainly not for any bands no longer around (unless fan pages start popping up).

Facebook allows interconnection between other sites, apps and so on, using their API for free and without permission. It's to their benefit. But with 160 million registered users on itunes, 10% of that alone would swamp facebook and overload servers if they used ping to find facebook friends. FB wouldn't let apple use their API's without permission. These were the conditions that have been referred to in the discussions between apple and FB. This one isn't about money it's about volume. Ping is going to be a big flop i really dont think that it is going to catch on. there are to many people that hate using itunes. and only use it for there ipod cause they have to.a lot of them being windows users y is that?
