its really not that comfortable to use the macbook pro's trackpad due to it being in the center, and I prefer my right hand off to the side a little more. Exactly why I use a mouse.
And guys, just cause you don't have a use for it doesn't mean that someone else doesn't need one.

I guess I am the first official fence rider on this one. I naturally love using a mouse since that is what we all first learned to use. However, I have learned to love using the track pad on my MBP. It is totally not a "need" but if I got it as a gift from someone (or if somehow I got one for free) I would mos def use it.

This is awesome.
I've been waiting for something like this.
When I connect my macbook pro to the tv or something I'd like to have something to control it and a mouse isn't always the easiest option, especially in bed. haha.

I am hoping the Apple stores have some to test out. I plan on going there this weekend to try a demo one.
Possibily getting one.

It will function like a regular mouse but no gesture support; for XP.

I was thinking the same thing...
Then I saw the previous poster saying something about an airmouse app for his iPhone so I downloaded that and cancelled my order! I love the trackpad on my Macbook Pro, but I just saved $70 AND I have one less gadget I need to worry about
. There are several to choose from in the App store (I got Air Mouse) and mine works great. I can't wait to try it out next movie night!
I still might buy this later for my iMac... I'm not sure though. As much as I love my MBP trackpad, I sort of enjoy the PC feel of my Logitec MX Revolution when switching over to the iMac. It's one of the only things (along with my Klipsch 4.1 Pro Media speakers) I've kept from my PC days
.
Hey thanks! This works great with the iPhone 4 too
.

Yes, because enlarging a technology that have existed since the early 90's means Apple cares so much about making their customers future proof... It's just smart marketing on their side that pushes products like these to skyrocket in sales even though they serve no good purpose. And yes, people love that Apple logo on their products.

I'm with everyone else here, just apple trying to drain your wallets. Spend a few extra bucks and get some actual function out of it if you need a track pad: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Bamboo-Touch-Small-Tablet/dp/B002OOWC3S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280332598&sr =8-2"]Wacom Bamboo[/ame]

Seems pointless, but Apple lovers will eat it up, no doubt.
