Here we go again with the fart apps. Can you bring anything else to the table that we don't already know about? The fart apps is old news. And i'm very sure the handful of apps that you mention that aren't useful is in your own imagination. You do not speak for everyone that uses the appstore so don't proclaim your ignorance as fact.
On a side note: I read the whole email war and it was such a waste of time for that fool to even email Steve about porn. What an idiot. I don't know why he cared so much about having that on a phone. It's not a big deal. In fact i know of a website that is fully capable of free length videos and can be played on most handsets....My friend gave it to me. >.>
I would broadcast it on here but...I'd get in trouble so i'll leave key words for the porn site it's like a hub of videos. Maybe Mr Taint i mean Tate will find it useful.Last edited by hollow0; 05-17-2010 at 09:19 AM.

1. I wish we could see how many Apps have been rejected from the App Store .... 200,000 Apps in the Store ... 1,000,000 Rejected????? !!!!
2. Maybe those 2 should be on the gloves for a 3 round match, Winner gets what they want.

This is a great article. Gave me a chuckle or two when I read Tate's blog.
I don't know WHAT I would do if I receive a reply from Steve Jobs himself.
Maybe I should start emailing him daily... I'm bound to get a hit or two.@iosalliance

People who buy iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad already know the limitations that Apple has put on the units. So if you know the limitations before you buy one, why buy one then complain about it. I seriously doubt you will ever see porn in the App Store.

This Ryan Tate guy is an inarticulate tool, who comes off like a little kid with a skinned knee.
Uncle Steve-O is absolutely right, don't like it, don't buy it, it truly is that simple.
I think it shines a great big light on our society that in everything discussed in that exchange, people are most worked up by not having an app to whack off to.
Is this really the cross people want to bare?
Should your grocery store be forced to carry Beaver Hunt? Should you be able to grab a copy of Barely Legal at the Farmer's Market?
Christ, when I was a kid, part of what made porn so great was the challenge in obtaining it.
Kid's today.
It's Steve's world and we're all just squirrels trying to get a nut, or I guess in this case, bust one.Last edited by ClerkDante; 05-17-2010 at 02:50 PM.

I could never understand why Americans treat sex as the ultimate evil of the world. There's no shortage of incredibly violent content in the app store. You can even get apps that pretend to be guns, flame throwers, and any assortment of murderous weapons. Likewise, Itunes is full of highly influential words that teach children to hate one another, objectify women, and value material possessions over all else.
But, apparently, sex is so much more evil that Apple must protect us and provide "freedom from porn".

I find it humorous that out of everything in that exchange you (as well as a lot of others it seems) focus solely on porn. I've always been amazed at the conservative nature that a lot of my fellow Americans have towards pornography. Like an earlier poster stated, there are numerous apps already in the appstore that promote violence and your typical **** and fart type of smut that serve no great benefit to anyone but apps related to people bumpin' uglies are considered bad?
This post and the ones similar to it reminded me of one of Bill Hicks' jokes:I find it ironic that people who are against things that cause sexual thoughts are generally fundamentalist Christians who also believe you should be fruitful and multiply.
The only question I have regarding porn is what provoked Jobs to even bring that up in the first place? That statement seemed to come out of left field...
Freedom, as on dictionary.com:
free·dom
–noun
1. the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint: He won his freedom after a retrial.
2. exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc.
3. the power to determine action without restraint.
I'm curious as to what Steve's definition is. I have a feeling that it's a bit more Orwellian in nature.
My personal favorite part of the entire exchange was Jobs' declaration that, "we're just doing what we can to try and make (and preserve) the user experience we envision. You can disagree with us, but our motives are pure." I honestly couldn't stop chuckling for two or three minutes after reading that part.

I say Apple just needs to have good parental controls. Might not be the best thing but it's just another thing that Apple has its control over.
