I love the ease of transfers with macs. Did the firewire thing when I went from my iBook to macbook. Then after that it was all timemachine. Got my new iMac and just used my timemachine backup from my macbook and was up and running like before within an hour of opening the box; everything installed, settings all the same, email accounts, users, etc.

so i am in the process on purchasing a macbook pro for myself and wife. apple has a refurb macbook pro for 929 plus tax. should i just wait and get the new one for 1199? right now we only have enough for the refurb one but if i wait i could possibly be able to get the new one.Click that "Thanks" button if I helped you!

^do you use your computers for graphic intense processes? If so I would wait a little while and buy the new 13in mbp because of the better graphics card, better battery life, and extra RAM/HD. if not, save a little money and buy the refurb. I have to say though, my 15in i5 MBP is freaking sweet!

good thing i held off on buying the refurb. we will be buying a brand new one with my bro inalws student id, haha. it will be only 200 more dollars than a refurb one...Click that "Thanks" button if I helped you!

you don't need a student id to buy with the student discount. you just have to check a box saying that you do go to that school.

How aboutbwhen you go the store?

I dont think so. They will probably make you sign to say that you are a student though. I am a student so i dont need to lie.

I thought they didn't do the student discounts through the actual stores?

So if I go there with my broinlaw and say it's for him and I pay for it. Do they register under his name? I am new to buying stuff from apple. Do you register the item there?
