Apple Tablet Prediction Scorecard and App

At long last, the end has come for all speculation about whether Apple will release a tablet device, and what it will do, look like, and cost. Everybody who had an opinion, reported a leak, or just made stuff up will have to face the music starting at 10am Pacific time (GMT-8) today, when Steve Jobs (along with other usual suspects like Phil Schiller) takes the stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

Jon Gruber of Daring Fireball featured a link to Unweary where David Weiss has put together a scorecard of the top rumors and predictions. For those of you playing along at home, come back around 10 today and follow our liveblog of the event to see if any of your favorite predictions came true. There's also a Prediction app [iTunes] that Unweary uses to track breaking rumors for Windows, Google and Apple, which is of course updated with all the top tablet predictions.

What will Apple call the thing: iTablet? iSlate? iBook? iPad? Will it cost $800 - $1000 US? Will it use 3G, and will Verizon support it? The score card is a PDF which you can print out and make marks on with some kind of stylus, but the app connects you to the worldwide web of speculators, and allows you to introduce new guesses, which people can add to their bet list.

i'll probably get one just for the hell of it, but I see what you're saying. I too own an iphone, macbook pro & an iMac, not to mention a variety of other apple products. To each his own.

I was so excited, I couldn't get to sleep last night til about 2 in the morning. Kinda happy, because I figured I'd sleep late and set my alarm to go off just before the event.

Well, 5 hours later and I woke up on my own. I'm not tired at all. -_- Now I have to wait another 4 and 1/2 hours til they announce SOMETHING.

I love my Apple products, my iphones, my imac, etc...
Yea, I'm excited to see what is released, capabilities, limitations, reality vs rumors, but I did not lose any sleep over this, and honestly just don't understand the media frenzy, hype, lies, and general chaos this is causing.

Will I buy one? Unless this tablet does something magical that I cannot accomplish with the current products I possess, the answer is no.
