Apple Fires Back at Windows with Three New Ads

Only hours after Windows 7 was released and Microsoft's first retail store opened in Phoenix, Apple fired back after enduring weeks of recent jabs at the hands of everyone from Verizon to Microsoft.
Three new ads have been rolled out by Apple which suggest that Microsoft's new version of Windows is nothing new or special, saying Windows 7 will be no better than previous offerings.
These spots are simply the latest "Get A Mac" commercials that pit the famous PC and Mac representatives against one another. In the "Broken Promises" ad, the PC is thematically presented as a series of flashbacks that reiterate the point that Microsoft is simply offering more of the same with each new OS, which, this time, supposedly is "not gonna have any of the problems my last operating system had."
From the Wall Street Journal:
The ads began airing on national television last night during “Grey’s Anatomy,” “CSI,” “The Office,” “30 Rock,” and the MLB playoffs. The PC, played by John Hodgman, excitedly asks in the ad: “Did you hear the good news? Windows 7 is out and it’s not going to have any of the problems that my last operating system had. Trust me.” The Mac responds, “I feel like I’ve heard this before, PC.”

The commercials are funny I have to agree. I own both OSX and Windows (everything) and yes they BOTH have had there issues. Personally I love new releases of Windows OS and I will always get it.

I saw a couple of them last night. They were pretty good! Windows 7 was much needed for Windows after the whole Vista debacle. It is a solid OS.

I kinda think they've got tiresome and boring and make Apple look idiotic at this point. I think if it wasn't for boorish and arrogant behavior like this, Apple would have taken over the PC industry a long time ago. They need to realize the vast majority don't care about their schtick.
Apple needs to focus on turning out more great products like OSX and the iPhone and not telling us what we can or can not do with their products or what we should or should not like.

I saw them on NBC last night and definitely got a good laugh out of them. Nicely done, Apple. :-)

Funny! In all honesty though, I have been using pc's for the past 15 years. I recently switched to a mac and it is absolutely fantastic not having to manually clean my registry for infections that virus protection did not find...editing my msconfig start up files....manually cleaning the garbage that the so called 'removal' tools cannot eliminate...rebuilding hard drives.....decoding crash data...etc
Now I can finally focus on what is important!
SURFING PORN! (kidding)
Seriously though, funny commercials...

i personaly think that they suck, windows 7 is great presonaly better then any OSX up to date i own both and want to sell my mac only because its just for show really thats the only reason the price tag is so expensive, with that amount of money you can built a super PC that will blow Apple out of the water. " windows more program work + mac, not so many -. i mean for a day-to-day user window is the shiiiit however you want to look cool infort of your friends and pay the price then thats cool too.
to the poster above i have been using windows for about 12yrs and have never gotten a virus nor have i ever had to have an anti-virus program to protect me from anything. having that said you may be right MAC may have all of the above stated but comon whats the fun of owning a computer thats idiot proof??
PS: Just presonal thought.Last edited by kissdaring; 10-23-2009 at 08:31 AM. Reason: adding info

I love my iphone. I gotta hand it to Apple. They make great devices. But every time I use a mac, I feel like i have training wheels. I can do so much more with my pc. (although I do despise vista)

As a computer programmer, I believe both are amazing. People who say one is better than the other is simply saying that because they don't understand what is going on in the background. It goes both ways. Mac OS Snow Lepoard don't forget that day when you decided to delete everything on my hard drive. As for Windows 7 you still blue screen deep down inside, just run adobe dreamweaver, photoshop, bridge, and contribute at the same time. Yeah those new updates are suppose to fix that. If you know how to work around the problems you will find that both will get the job done over time.
