New Macs Have Been Rolling Off Assembly Line For Weeks: Report

image via Apple
The rumored redesign of the iMac and MacBook is apparently a reality... at least according to a report in AppleInsider. The website's informants assert that the designs were finalized in September and have been coming out of Apple's Taiwan factory for at least two weeks.
The modifications are still shrouded in secrecy, but persistent indications from AppleInsider's informants indicate an industrial design akin to the new 24" LED CInema Display, and the possible inclusion of Blu-Ray technology, something Apple has long avoided for the high licensing costs, as well as unidentified new "semi-professional" audio-video capabilities.
Since the product is apparently ready to ship, the informants indicate that release could be imminent, waiting only for Apple Marketing to kick it off. So, if this report is true, it's probably reasonable to expect an announcement anytime from this afternoon through the middle of next month.

I just bought a 13" MBP 2.53 Monday night. I pretty much capped out my budget on it so I doubt anything they come out with in that line will be in my price range. Guess we will see in the next couple of days.

Watching Blue-Ray on a 13" MBP (or any computer monitor) just doesn't make sense, lol. Additionally you don't get the HD sound component unless it's hooked up to your high end home theater. For those like me that have the 2.53Ghz will not notice any difference to the 2.8Ghz processor. 270Mhz is just not a large enough increase. No reason to fret for this upgrade. Plus Apple is known for their periodic "silent" upgrades at least once a year.

Well, after some reading and research all I see is the redesign of the iMac and the MacBook. They just released the MacBook Pro in 13". I am hoping that they leave that line alone. I hate to think I just spent $1600 on a new computer that will not be the newest in 2 weeks!

^why does this dude type in red?
^^^^ Edit Poseidon: Why do you care?... It's nice to get a little color around here
I want to see some documentation that stealth might be basing his belief on. I just can't imagine they'd touch the mbp line up again this year. but they were offering rebates on the "13 mbp back in august, so that could have been them trying to get them off the shelves to make room for a new one.Last edited by Poseidon79; 09-25-2009 at 09:53 AM.
Computers in the future may weigh no more than 1.5 tons.

I read it on one of the rumor sites

I wouldn't think they would touch the MBP line either but if they do I am ready to upgrade my system.
