I downloaded itunes 9 without the phone utility. all seems to work fine and did not mess up my unlocked and jailbroken iphone 2g.

ok I uninstalled itune 9.... iphonebrowser still not working....
trying to install itune 8.2.1.... this isn't working either !!!

could not get older version of itunes to work. Out of desperation I again tried itunes 9. I only installed itunes and not the iphone config utility.
9 works and I can sync my phone. Still no iphonebrowser !

Now that the 3.1 JB is out I need to decide what to do. Since I have been reading so many conflicting answers, what is the deal with iTunes 9?
I have yet to d/l it. Should I, or should I stay with 8.2? I am on ATT & jailbroken 3G 16gig, running 3.0 and 6.0 carrier with tethering & data access. Will I lose these goodies and the ability to ssh into my phone?
