Adobe CS3 May or May Not Work with Snow Leopard
Remember back in '07 when you picked up CS3 for $1700? Well you might want to think twice about a $30 upgrade to Snow Leopard, the latest version of OS X, available this Friday. Adobe has stated when it comes to CS3 and Snow Leopard - you may "experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for which there is no resolution."
CS4 is of course guaranteed to work, as it is the current rev of the Adobe Creative Suite of products (which includes favorites like InDesign and Photoshop). The Adobe folks are busy getting stuff done like... porting Photoshop to Cocoa, and say they won't be moving resources around to worry about compatibility issues of old software on new OSs.
Of course, none of this matters for me. My work machine is still PPC, so not even Snow Leopard will work for me.
Q. Will older versions of Adobe creative software—such as Adobe Creative Suite 3 or Macromedia® Studio 8
software—support Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6)?
A. Older versions of Adobe creative software were not included in our testing efforts. While older Adobe and
Macromedia applications may install and run on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6), they were designed, tested,
and released to the public several years before this new operating system became available. You may therefore
experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for which there is no resolution. Older versions
of our creative software will not be updated to support Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6)..

This is BS! I dont have the money to upgrade to CS4. Is there really that much of a reason to upgrade to OS 10.6 though?"Carpe iPhone"-"Seize the iPhone"-Steve's Roman Ancestors
