Oh, I'm not so sure that's true any more. With their tight control over the AppStore, plus things like this, I think Apple is posturing to become the next "bad boy" of the computer scene. Nobody really cares what Microsoft is doing at the moment. How the mighty have fallen.

Well, I'm glad the way that you see the world is now going to be foisted upon the rest of us. One might argue though that Pystar had no effect on your life: If you wanted a Mac hardware based machine, you could buy one. With Pystar around, you had a choice of using them, or going with a Mac-hardware based machine. At the end of the day, people are still going to make PC based Macs. Now, they're just going to buy a Dell and install OSX on that. Probably with software that they steal. At least with Pystar, Apple was getting its license fee for OSX. Seems like a big shot in the foot to me, akin to music companies not wanting to sell their music online, because they need the control of the format. Apple showed them the way... it just doesn't like being SHOWN the way.

As bad as Micro$oft is, I don't remember them ever suing anyone over installing Windows on a Mac using bootcamp...

Also I agree that this kind of company only helps Apple. Personally after Hackintoshing for a year with illegal software, I bought a Mini, from the Apple store no less! I would have never done this had I not been able to use the Mac first on inexpensive PC hardware.

really sad to hear this...Apple is slowly becoming as bad as Microsoft....a big bully...either u play by their rules or they run you out of business. Shouldn't countries in EU be doing something similar to what they did to MS

Ohh... our "beloved" commission will surely penalize anyone, but there is no Apple vs. "European Producer" legal lawsuit, so...
Btw, apple has a minor position on european market. Here in czech republic there is no official distributor of apple products (although there is an apple.cz website, shop and so on, and they say they are the only one legal distributor, this company is not apple, not even owned by a czech, but some unknown company registered in british virgin islands).
There is a major dist. network in germany and poland, as well as austria, little in france, but no more - others are just companies working with apple products as side business.
So why should EU commission bother anyway?

You just gained 100 coolness points in my book.

Anyway, I think it's funny that they are filing for bankruptcy. Just goes to show how hard it is to fight a legal battle with a company as big as Apple or anyone else for that matter.

What happens if you buy one of their computers and then they go out of business? The warranty is for three years, so would they honor it, or would you be SOL?

I might send them an email and ask.
