"Still expensive"

Was there really ever any doubt? REALLY? Everything Apple puts to market is expensive, at least when compared to any competitor...

That being said these aren't here for the average Joe. I mean sure, the average Joe can buy them, but mostly people that buy these things use them for a business like making hit movies, rendering video and the likes. Picking off a few of these 22 grand machines and in turn producing a movie that grosses millions of dollars isn't such a bad deal...

honestly i could give 2 craps about the economy rite now

macs aren't really overpriced. they are high quality peices of equipment and apple has one of the best customer service departments of any company

thus we are paying for the fact that they will replace the machine even after your warranty is up (most of the time)

honestly pc's are overpriced because i cant for the life of me figure out why you would pay more than 300 dollars for a piece of ****machine ;oaded up with a s****y OS

What makes a mac so high quality when they use the same components as "PC's"? I'd also love to know what makes it worth double what it would cost to build the same machine yourself? Is it just because of the operating system? You can build a $500 "PC" (Maybe $1000 in the case of this computer) and load OSX on it and have either the same or a better machine hardware-wise and still spend half or less what you would on a mac.

I don't understand you nut-swinging fanboys. You are not paying for customer service, you are buying into HYPE. If you actually have to use customer service with your computer, you shouldn't own one in the first place.

A comparable computer to this one could be built for half that price and loaded with OSX, but since this is being called a "Mac", the price automatically doubles because Steve Jobs knows you fanboys will pay that much. I'd also really like to know what exactly designates a computer a "PC" or a "Mac" anymore. They use the same hardware, the only difference is the operating system. Furthermore, I don't see why anyone even argues the fact that "Well Macs are good for video editing and stuff...blah blah blah". You can do everything a Mac can do and more on a "PC" (or should I say a computer using the Windows OS?).

Your last argument is absolutley invalid, as we are talking about a machine costing 2-3 thousand dollars here. You obviously are also talking about pre-built machines, which everyone knows are ****. If you put 2-3 thousand dollars into a custom machine, you'd have the nicest computer imaginable at this period of time, and yes, that means much better hardware than what's in that Mac.

And since it's apparent you are about twelve years old by the way you type, I'm not going to bother educating you on the economy right now, but one thing I will say is that you better start caring because it is affecting every single one of us.

Obviously you have your opinions, but you are also making ridiculous, absolutely moronic claims that stand no solid ground whatsoever. You are nothing more than a fanboy and refuse to accept the fact that someone must be doing something right to have 98% of the market share on computers/operating systems. Simply the fact that you didn't know Windows can handle 32GB of RAM shows that you honestly don't know a damn thing about computers, so please, think before you post next time.

You know what, you can go **** yourself

i don't care what you say about me, it really is not relevant

any "well" built custom machine will work great with osx but most people dont know how to build a good machine

we arent talking about that, we are talking about why people would spend money on somthing that will work for what you want and does not require any extra work

we are not here to talk about the economy, i dont care about it rite now. if you want to completely worry yourself up until you puke or some stupid **** be my guest, but dont bring everyone else down

this wasnt an issue until someone like you decided to take offense to the fact that someone disagrees with you

if you want to build your own pc go ahead. no one is stopping you.

if you want to fight about how much better a pc is then you shouldnt be here. we do not have a pc section for a reason

now we are not here to fight with insecure little kids who cant even have an argument while staying on topic. bringing things like age into this and trying insult someone because of what computer they like is exactly what kind behavior turns posts upside down.

its obvious that by your aggressive social skills you are going to post again and say something to further embarrass yourself, but i am done dragging down this thread with useless bull ****.
