If it automatically ripped those 5 CDs into your library it would be cool

funny story,
About a month ago I was setting up a business with some Christmas music. Mostly an iPod nano setup over the speakers system (the guy was finally ridding his restaurant of his 9000 disc cd changer).
Anyways, so i'm setting everything up, walking him through how to rip and sync through iTunes, and one of his waitreses comes up to me and says that she liked the music that was being played and asked if I could "burn her a CD".
So I was just about to say "yea, sure no problem..." when I suddenly realized that I neither a) had any burnable CD's as it had been so long since i burned something so small that most of my media was DVD and b) it had been so long that I had actually used a CD let alone burned one that I had completely forgotten how to do it!
(for all you kid's out there, you don't just simply burn a "CD" like you would an disc of mp3's or whatever, you actually have to use a program to convert your audio files into *i think* a CD1 extension. Generally speaking NERO does it for you, but I have long since used Nero, i couldn't remember where it was!)Herp a derp a derp a doooo!

possibly the worst concept ever. not only are cd's obsolete now, but this is not even practical for CD collections or "artsy" in my opinion

dumb.
you know how much work it would be to take my pirated music and burn it to disc then make a stupid sleeve and find a jewel case.

I think it's a cool concept. I may buy one depending on the price.
It's not really meant to be functional so much as decor. I know exactly where I'd put it in my room along with my top 5 albums of all time.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I actually think this is kinda neat. I'd prolly buy one for like 15 bucks.
But like an earlier post said, they need to come out with a 12" double LP version so I can display my vinyl in the same fashion. It would be like GIANT cover flow! OMGComprehensive iPhone 2.1 FAQ:

Last I checked, Jewel cases stand up just fine on their own....if you have the space you can display your entire damn collection in coverflow style. If it's about the standing up.....try "Bluetack". I honestly see no point in this when if you're that desperate to be artistic you can buy some plastic or wood and make the thing for a pound.(Dollar/Euro).

not quite useful and not quite useless ...
It would be definitely useless for people who only downloading pirate MP3s or buying MP3 musics :P However, for those of you who still loving CD ( and definitely CD is better medium if you are sensitive with quality ), it would be a nice solution to show off your favourite collection right next to your sexy stereo setup

guys don't buy this. i bought one and i messed up my CDs. i'm so used to using my finger to scroll through albums that i tried to "scroll" through my CD collection and ended up knocking them all over, jewel cases broke and CDs went flying everywhere. it was a disaster!

It needs to house the following:
iphone 2g
iphone 3g
ipod touch 1g
ipod touch 2g
ipod nano in the middle
Then it needs to connect all the devices into one USB hub and connect to your mac so you can access each item mounted on your mac and switch between them.

well, it does look pretty clean and nice, but it is useless if you have an ipod.
