Apple Updates White Macbook... Secretly!

When Steve Jobs announced the new Uni-Body Aluminum Macbooks, he reduced the price of old low-end white macbook to attract more users to the platform. Though the specifications were not that great but an Apple for $999 is a great deal. But now, it seems that Apple has silently updated it's White Macbook specifications and the new specifications are quiet similar to that of the new low-end Aluminum Macbooks which costs a $300 more!
The new update bumps a lot of stuff! The processor is updated to the ones in newer model, the 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo model with a 1066MHz frontside bus which is a big upgrade from 800MHz. They have also doubled the RAM in this one from 1GB to 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory standard, now that's something big, though not huge. They have also updated graphics to NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics. The other small updates include upgrading Blutooth from 2.0 to 2.1.
All the other ports (including firewire) are intact. This is most probably a preparation for the upcoming Snow Leopard.
Hope that this will help some of you who were considering a shiny new Macbook

I used to have this laptop... Its actually VERY good. I did a lot of professional video editing on it and it was flawless. I have the new Macbook Pro now, and to be honest, its not that much different. The Mac processor itself in the white is already SO fast for the average person that it is actually a perfect investment for the everyday user.
To the guy up there with a 800 budget...Buy it. Smartest thing I could tell you to do with your money.

It's not well publicized, but I do remember steve mentioning that the black option would still be available during his keynote when he announced the new aluminum laptops. Perhaps it was only temporary?
And you know .... there's always spraypaint
