Mac OS X 10.5.6 Is Out

Want it? You can grab it via software update on your mac. Like usually there are quite a few updates in this version including:

Graphic improvements for gaming, iChat, Cover Flow, Aperture, and iTunes.
Some sort of Trackpad System Preference Pane for portable macs.

oo ahh amazing -- just moved some stuff to a new prefs pane no biggie
Improvements in compatibility in performance for many various things like Address Book, Airport, Client Management, iChat, Mail, MobileMe, Networking, Printing, Parental Controls, Time Machine, Safari, and other various things. For full information click here.

Edit Poseidon: Multiple reports that 10.5.6 does not allow the Mac to see the iPhone in DFU mode. If you wish to continue to unlock and jailbreak your iPhone do not update at this time. It is rumored "The simplest workaround I’ve heard of for the DFU issue is to copy one or two of the 10.5.5 frameworks files over the newer ones." - MuscleNerd. Which files? I don't know yet...

I wonder if Apple is going to attempt to block jailbreaking somehow with this update?

Can someone check on this after they update to 10.5.6?

Mine won't update- Just hangs on configuring installation.

now idk if this update will fix it, but when using photobooth and recording video with it, the audio only sometimes records and im left with video and no audio... it happens often enough to be frustrating so hopefully it will fix it because its not a hardware issue ive checked millions of times... any help would be appreciated!

delete all files in /Library/Updates

try again. common software update problem since uh 10.3

This new update doesn't recognize your iPhone in DFU mode. Apple should warn the jailbreakorZ!

Great update. fixes that stupid iChat error that always comes up when u direct connect/send pictures and stuff. You kno wwhat im talking about if u use ichat!

so there is no way to do anything with your hone after putting it into DFU if you have this update?

Includes fixes for possible graphics distortion issues with certain ATI graphics cards -- didnt see anything about nvidia

Gee, I still didnt update to 10.5.5 yet. That came on my used Macbook but I could not coonect to my home Windows network, now way no how. Long story but I bopught Leopard install disk and reinstalled at 10.5.4 and left it snce it works fine for me. I was seriously afraid 10.5.5 would break my network as I had read more than a few blogs with that issue.

Just updated and now I can't change what battery "mode" I want, battery life, performance etc. kinda odd ....?

Well now we have several confirmed updates that 10.5.6 breaks DFU mode. One from this site, one from iSpazio, and another from ipodtouchfans. If you want to continue to jailbreak your iphone do not update to this new version until we hear from the Dev Team.

Have NO FEAR! a USB HUB is all that is needed to go into DFU mode!
