You can't be much of a PC master to NOT be able to figure out how to build/install your own "hackintosh".

It's not that difficult. I have a PC with OS X on it, and a MacBook.. I rarely use the PC for doing Mac stuff, but it's fun to play around with.

I hate companies like this.. not for the fact that they are trying to compete with apple but for the fact that somewhere out there you have some one who wants to buy an mac. It could be a young kid who doesnt know what he is buying , or a grandmother or parent who isnt computer savvy and is just trying to buy a grandson , son , or daughter a present so they google mac and the site pops up and they actually think they are buying a mac. I am fine with competing with mac. im actually all for it bc it makes apple try and improve continuously . I just feel bad for the uninformed buyer who is misled by what is actually being sold and when they get it is as well built or nearly as nice.

pystar has a better concept. they were the originators of the hacintosh mass selling, and it seems like they offer more for less money. this one is just a couple hundred off, and you really don't get that much more out of it. wireless is optional, so an additional fee?? what? sorta need that nowadays

Meh. I have built a Hackintosh computer. It's pretty OK, but it does lack a lot of the "it just works" experience that a true Mac has built-in.

Unless you are good at troubleshooting and/or coding drivers you are at the mercy of the hackintosh community --which may, or may not (mostly not) have any desire to help you out.

For 1200 including a monitor, I'd much rather buy a real iMac and forgo the hassle.

This is accurate, however with any lawyer (or anyone familiar with the word antitrust for that matter) you could give Apple a run for their money...

Anyone who drops 1grand+ on an item and not know what they are buying is an idiot that deserves it. This thing doesn't claim to be a Mac. If the buyer has ever SEEN a Mac they will know it looks nothing like what these people are offering.

i have 3 alien ware desktop in worst conditions lol the desktops have 3 years old desktop tower cases but inside what counts which i have 790i board n quad core 2.8 n 6 gb ram with 2way sli of 8800 gfx

it look crap on out side but i still kick *** in call of duty 4

and when it comes to mac yes they tried to compact their things n made it smaller n slick designs then any one else but in the end their **** sux to begin with... only thing they can go n cry about is media n graphics which now days windows r way better in it as well if u willing to drop the money in ur windows desktop.

overall for 900 a pre configure hackentosh with no hassle to work on it hrs to get the drivers right n all i guess this s a gud deal. not saying ppl r dumb who buy macs :P but thats how life goes.....
windows = so many things to offer
mac = only media n graphics to offer rest they suck windows nuts...
not only that if u look in new macs they using boot camp so u can install windows os this is so ppl can buy Macs n later can install windows this just so ppl think oh ya finally we can do 2 things yet macs sux to b honest not a single mac pc is run as a server in business world lol all using intel or amd cpus n chipsets none using macs... infact now macs r using intel lol b/c they gave up on their stuff lol
the only thing ppl buy macs b/c of their compressed designs n i also like em but at the price they come at i rather buy a alien ware laptop lolzz then these crappy macs.

It's good to have competition. Apple should wake up and finally release it's os for any x86 based system. It would eliminate these smaller companies for the most part and increase their market share significantly. The downside is they'd have the problem that microsft has in supporting tens of thousands of hardware configurations, not to mention, who's going to buy one of apples overpriced desktop/laptop units when avearge joe can build/buy one for 1/2 the price
