Psystar and Apple Going back to Court

Well it looks like the Psystar Apple out of court settlement plans didn't quite work out. After the original trade of lawsuits back and forth between Apple and after the original suit against the mac-clone manufacturer the two companies said that they were going to attempt to work out and settle their difference out of court through Alternative Dispute Resolution.
This didn't work out and now they are headed back to court. "The Parties do not believe that this type of case can be handled on an expedited basis with streamlined procedures," is a quote from the filling. It is possible that the Alternative Disputer Resolution was never intended to work out in the first place. Back in October the Psystar lawyer Colby Springer hinted that the Aletnative Dispute Resolution was just a mandatory process and that no peaceful solution to the lawsuit was at hand.
We recently covered the newest Psystar computer features that include lots of choices between powerful NVIDIA graphics and Blueray drives. IF you want one you could be running out of time since Apple is definitely trying to take Psystar out of business.

Looking at it from afar... I believe PsyStar should win this battle under terms of antitrust, which is what they filed for. I believe the issue here is that you are not entitles to install OSX onto a non-Mac system under the EULA. Rules like this are ridiculous. Let me install it on my toaster if I want to! My FEAR, however, is that Apple will have MUCH MUCH better lawyers and will have to be doing something utterly and blatantly wrong for them to lose the fight.
I wish people would also relize that they can just build a system and install OSX though...Last edited by sziklassy; 11-04-2008 at 08:05 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Well, it is just like building a PC... just need to put a little bit of research into making sure things will work with OSX (and there is a ton of material online for this all over). A good site to buy product is NewEgg.com
Basically you will need:
Case
Power supply
Motherboard
Processor
RAM
Hard Drive
Optical Drive
+ Any other fancy deal you need/want to have in it
Really all this company is selling is a custom built PC with OSX loaded on it...------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah this is just stupid. Apple is trying to monopolize everything they make. where is the freedom? Where is the chance of competition? Its like Apple gets all butt-hurt whenever someone else has a better idea then them. Could you imagine what that would be like if MICROSOFT did this kind of crap and monopolized the PC world? cricketlang - what are you talking about?? Microsoft already has a vast majority in the computer market - it was recently a huge deal that Apple even hit double digit market share...
And yes, the begging for thanks is seriously ridiculous - for christ's' sake, it's not like you get paid royalties or something, it just adds a number under your postcount!Comprehensive iPhone 2.1 FAQ:

Five thanks for my post?!
Talk about irony...
Bastards.
And Tweetix -- now you're just being a smart-*****...
Heheh -- my nefarious, yet somehow sneakily underhanded and redundantly-described plan for garnering thanks by making cricketlang look like a tool is somehow working! Muahahahahahahaha...
Ouch -- I just chewed off part of my tongue...Last edited by Napoleon_PhoneApart; 11-06-2008 at 09:52 AM.
