Turn your Macbook into a Tablet
[imglink]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3232/2983797526_604b9c0c78.jpg[/imglink]
Many of us out here in Apple land have been sitting on the edge of our seats for ages waiting for Apple to release a tablet. They still haven't. The current option is to go and pick up a Modbook (they look pretty awesome by the way).
Axitron (the makers of the Modbook) have now given us another option. If you don't have the cash to spend on a new Modbook and have an old macbook sitting around Axitron has opened up their service to change your Macbook into a nice tablet Modbook.
Pricing isn't cheap starting at $1,299 for just a basic conversion with no extra features. Pricing for the extras/upgrades including memory (RAM), hard disk drive, optical drive (SuperDrive), new bottom case assembly, and software isn't clearly listed on the Modservice order form so it is difficult to tell how much money you'll save by having your Macbook converted to a Modbook instead of ordering a Modbook. The basic Modbook starts at $2199 with a 2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, CDRW/DVD drive, and GPS.
The conversion service can done with most Intel® Core™ 2 Duo-based white Apple MacBooks. The new Macbooks release earlier this month can not be converted. I'd also like to know why it has to be "white." Why not convert a black MAcbook?
If you are interested in more info or ordering check out the Axitron site.

ModBook what a waste
I had bought one early last year. and when it over a year later the problems started.
1 they did not install the OS correctly.
2I had to restart computer every time. because the pen would not work.
3) GPS you still have to buy the software.
Tech support is the worst only one guy that can help and he was not there 50 % of the time.
4) They indicate that you have 22 days to return. but they dont tell you that is has to be in their store by that time.
5) when i decided to return it I requested it 16 days into the 21 days. I get an email 3 days later saying that my email was lost in the spam filters. after I had repeatedly sent emails before I decided to return. and when i finally got a RMA they told me i could not get a refund because it needed to be in their store by the end of the 21 st day.
so dont try it keep waiting for APPLe to maybe selling

twitter.com/dale1vMicrosoft owns the internet through Hotmail. The .HTML is short for Hotmail, so all .HTML files are MS files.

you can connect a keyboard to it , if you dont then you use the pen and use the built in keyboard that you can bring on to appear
on the screen.

I believe they use Wacom tablets in the modbooks, so I don't know how they would work as a touchscreen. I could be wrong tho..
