Instinctiv Shuffle - The Shuffle Killer for your Mac

Remember Instinctiv Shuffle when they launched for iPhone back in the 1.x firmware days?
They are now nearing release for their Mac version of the same software. For the next few days, they're offering a limited beta version for testing to all MMi users. (pf edit 5/27/09: package is no longer available/supported - new version coming)
What does it do? Its an "application that enhances the iTunes shuffle feature. Based on skipping behavior, Instinctiv Shuffle anticipates what you want to hear next." Similar to Pandora or LastFM, but working directly in your iTunes, it can turn your Shuffle mode into something akin to the new Genius playlists - with your entire library.
Please leave feedback here once you've been using it - the guys over at Instinctiv would love to see if there's any last-minute bugs they couldn't find that you do before they launch officially, or just some nifty features you guys think of.
The iPhone version for the 2.x firmware will be coming soon as well via the MMi Cydia repo once they've made sure the beta is working as great on you guys' machines as it is on theirs.
Oh, and this is Intel only at the moment - those of you still on G5's, etc, are going to have to wait it out...

So does the iPhone have "instinctive shuffle"? I never even knew about this. Is it just a standard feature or do you have to turn it on? There are songs I constantly skip (mostly because I buy albums and then hate a few songs on them but sync it all anyway like an idiot) that are never skipped over by shuffle so I have always resorted to just deleting them...

Downloading through my edge connection and tethered iphone in the airport. Hopefully it finishes before I have to board. It'll give me something to play with on this flight, but i've only got like an hour of battery left on the laptop
so i don't know... I wish I could find a power adapter in this stupid airport. I arrived at an airport in santo domingo at 5 am and won't be to my final airport till midnight... 21 hours of travel time...
I get an error message about titled Servers on Strike in iTunes when I try to use this. anyone else have this issue.
EDIT: Problem solved. Reinstall fixed this issue. It may have been caused by me running the install the first time using my tethered iPhone connection. I don't know but maybe the installer detected my internet connection settings at that time and was attempting to use that proxy or something?Last edited by bluewoodboarder; 10-15-2008 at 09:55 AM. wish they would make a plugin for winamp. it's a cool idea just that who uses itunes that actually cares about music as much as to warrant such a progie. I can't use itunes as my media player because it only supports 1/4 of my collection of music due to it lacking any sort of support different audio codecs. love the winamp because it will play every audio file I throw at it no problem and import all of them into it's media library even the weird chiptune formats. if i could get a smart predict similar to this for winamp I would be a happy boy.

Is this working for anyone? They seem to be coming out with almost daily updates for it now... but whenever I turn it on and hit "Shuffle" in the iPod app, it crashes.

Does this iphone app in any way connect itself to the internet to get information about the songs? I don't want to suddenly get a big bill caused by a lot of gprs trafic..
