We just received an email from a tipster Techno Minds who grabbed some pictures/images of the new Macbook Pro from a claimed Apple Employee working on Apple's design team.



According to the source the above picture is the new Macbook Pro grabbed with a camera phone. Some interesting details about the Pro were also included:

• The 'Touchpad Dock' rumor is false
• A new magnetic opening/closing system is in place
• The top of the 'shell' is gloss, similar to the iPhone and the bottom is aluminum.
• The iSight is hidden nicely in the glossy frame
• The keyboard is similar to the MacBook Air keyboard

If this picture is real the "TouchPad Dock" rumor is killed, although the touchpad in the picture does look like it may be made with a different material than the past -- possibly glass making the current touchpad rumors half true I suppose. Also to note from the picture there does not seem to be drastically curved unlike the original "photo" of the Macbook Pro. This is in agreement with many other sources across the web that have said that the new Macbook Pro does not have curved edges.

Also included from the source is what is claimed to be a mockup of a Macbook Pro ad designed for the Apple website. Remember the source is on Apple's design team .



You'll have to make your own conclusions but we think the images above are fairly reasonable and match a lot of the current MacBook Pro expectations. We hope it's true and will continue watching and waiting for more Macbook Pro information.

I call BS... this just looks like a modified 17" MBP.

Besides, the tag-line doesn't seem like something Apple's marketing machine would say...

Well it is just a mockup for the ad, I doubt the design team is the best at slogans. When the marketing team gets ahold of the ad I'm sure they'll come up with something better. Then again the did call the iPod touch 2G 'funnest' >_<

As for the keyboard, I agree that the black Air-esque keyboard is no bueno, IMO. It just doesn't seem logical, it makes the design seem less fluid, breaking it up with seemingly random color changes. The silver keyboard blended perfectly with the aluminum case - why change it?! Argg.

Anyways, it still looks sexy, and I'm anxious to see what the real thing will look like!.

You are not the only one but i would really like the air-style keyboard rather than the normal keyboard almost every laptop uses these days. Maybe more like the apple keyboard would be nice (as in white not black).
However with the black around the screen, it does actually look quite good. It does look like a giant iphone 3G but i doubt it is the real thing. Whatever happened to air-style aluminium casing? Black gloss on the top does not look like something they would do, but it does look very nice with it.

I don't like it, the patches of black on silver ruin it. Also, I'm slightly skeptical about the image itself; the macbook on the right, it just doesn't look right; looks skewed... Might be my eyes playing tricks on me, though.

Always taken with a bad camera. Get a decent one if you want to take pictures.

Easily put some kind of case on, add something to the keys to make them look black and stick a trackpad cover aswell as create some mockup images of what you have made. Easy. I would still like this alot though. Maybe a white version and a black version (gloss, keys, trackpad) could be good.

So fake :S The tagline is nothing like anything apple would say..
It doesn't even make sense.. and the design mockup and the "photo" are looking too similar (macbooks in exactly same position)

yay all the bugs the 3g iphone has will now be on the macbook especially the keyboard looks shrunk, that is going to be terrible for typing
