Of course they both do the same thing.

What's funny about this is that I never thought the Mac & PC characters in the apple ads were supposed to prepresent the individuals using them. They were supposed to be personifications of the computers themselves. Any body can and does use either of them. But when you use a mac, its UI is friendly and modern and cool. So its personification its a normal, but young and kinda "hip" guy. The Windows UI is functional, but a little clunky, and certainly anything but sexy (anything that is sexy directly costs you perfromance wise.) So it's personification is an older, nerdy, kinda frazzled guy. And for all the negativity, they are friends in those ads.

The Windows ads make out like the apple ads were out to personally insult their users. They weren't. They were just saying wouldn't you rather this cool guy do these things for you instead of this guy with a stick up his @$$? Never was a fairer comparison between the 2 made.

Have you all never seen the iPhone girl pictures? The computer they are using to make the iPhones is a PC running windows... I say you can be haters and laugh about it but it seems so ironic.

personally.... all three do the same thing.. just differently. but at the end of the day, they all do the same thing
and at the end of the day a Range Rover and a Ford Explorer both do the same thing.

A ferrari and a Volkswagon GTI R32 both do the same things.... anyone can take the most complex things and break them down to the simplest similarities.. hmm 4 wheels, check, steering wheel, check, runs on gas, check.. guess its the same?

exacly that's why MS and Apple biggest target user group is casual people like you and me.

Casual people go for the hybrids n ****... **** to get to to point A and B. Enthusiasts go for r32's and ferrari's.

People argue over the simplest ****. The campaigns don't even go into depth what the hell PC strongpoints are or what MAC's strongpoint's are. But, the true PC or MAC users know what their machine is capable of.

Put simply these ads are marketed toward people who just wanna download music here and there, browse the web and the most advanced would be a little home editing here and there.

This crap isnt directed toward people who are programmers or freaking studio composers... reason being hollywood or music composers use a mac for their **** is welll because THEY KNOW THEIR ****. Same goes for programmers who rather use linux or some **** or why mos business use MS for business.

stop eatin the hype they give you and choose what you like to use and stop being bias toward some **** you're just a tool for not you directly but Mac tools or PC tools in this particular case.

and you might say yeah the latest MS ad for windows have a lot of top tier people like engineers n **** saying they are PC's whatever but it still isn't directed to them, it's directed to casual people - it's just a method for PC users to feel more special.

Pc's and Macs are useful in different situations, I guess it could be a bit embarrasing though.

Yes, you're a PC. But you come with Vista, which is like a chick with herpes.

isnt it better with a variety of machines so people can choose which is best for them, there are good and bad points to everything. i recon you lot are pretty dumb.

And if you're Apple, you use windows machines to build your iPhones and check out your customers. Blah blah blah. Advertising is advertising. Lets focus on more relevant things.

yeah, but in my defense, i used a pc for years and years before hand; i hated macs. i learned everything i know about computers now on a dell, but the move to a mac made me never want to go back. i've got my mbp bootcamped, but only to play source games

You can't compare a Range Rover to an Explorer. Range Rover is just an amazing piece of engineering, British btw , we Brits can do something, whilst an Explorer is just crap. It's the way they do it makes them good.

Ferrari is a supercar whilst an R32 isn't. The way it's designed is what makes it like that. A stock Ferrari will smoke a stock R32.

That lone statement probably makes more sense then anything that will ever be written in this thread.

My hats off to you good sir.
