Mac power outlet keeps breaking

I've had 3 Macs already. My first mac was an iBook G4 & after having it for about 1 year the power outlet started to break near the part where you plug it into the comp. anyway, i had to buy another power outlet for that one. then i bought a MacBook Pro a few months ago & sure enough, the power outlet is starting to break..i cant tell how long it will last for, hopefully another month or two. but i hate having to spend so much money all the time on the power outlet. am i just being totally careless or is there something i can do to prevent this from happening again?

buy ur next mac from best buy and get the warranty, same thing happened to me and they gave me a free replacement
